All classes are taught by me, Catherine Timmons. I have been teaching quiltmaking classes, workshops and retreats and giving lectures for eleven years. I teach classes locally in Wisconsin and travel to teach weekend retreats across the country. I am available to teach classes throughout the United States.

I feel that whether a student is learning the basics, learning a new technique, sharpening her skills, or working toward the unattainable goal of perfection, quiltmaking and quilt classes need to be enjoyable. This philosophy is reflected in my teaching. 

Although I have taught many classes from commercial patterns and books, I prefer to draft and prepare my own patterns. I also write my own handouts for technique classes in hand quilting, machine quilting, appliqué, hand piecing, and other workshops where a skill is learned rather than a quilt made. In addition to the specially prepared handouts, I provide all necessary samples and supply lists. If you want a sample made from your own fabrics, this may be possible; email me for details.
